About this opportunity
The Cox Civic Scholarship places a strong emphasis on serving the community, and provides funding for hardworking Indiana residents who are incoming first-year students, are academically strong, have demonstrated financial need, and have a commitment to service. Selected scholars are placed in a local community nonprofit agency or city department where they engage in meaningful service to the Bloomington community working 10 to 12 hours each week in addition to being a full-time student. The scholarship is renewable for a total of four years (eight semesters) and requires participation in Camp Cox, a five-day immersive leadership development experience held at Bradford Woods in late July. All newly awarded Cox Scholars must maintain full-time enrollment of at least 12 credit hours, maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA, and successfully work in their assigned community service position throughout their entire enrollment at Indiana University Bloomington.
