About this opportunity
The Cox Exploratory Scholarship provides funding for hard-working Indiana residents who are incoming first-year students, are academically strong, have demonstrated financial need, and have a desire to help educate and mentor their peers. Cox Exploratory Scholars work as IU Peer Coaches to exploratory students as either a Career Peer or a Peer Academic Coach, helping students discover tools, resources, and strategies to take full advantage of their IU education through academic opportunities, co-curricular activities, and undergraduate experiences that fit their personal and professional goals. Scholars gain valuable experience in leading coaching conversations in one-on-one and group settings, collaborating with professionals on team projects, and developing initiatives that support and include all students at IU Bloomington. The scholarship is renewable for a total of four years (eight semesters) and requires a 10 to 12 hour work commitment each week during enrollment at Indiana University. All newly awarded Cox Scholars are required to participate in Camp Cox, a five-day immersive leadership development experience held at Bradford Woods in late July.
