About this opportunity
Cork University Business School (CUBS) is offering 1 PhD scholarship in Economics to commence in October 2025. This project is funded through collaboration with the UNIC Initiative. The successful candidate will undertake their PhD in the Department of Economics, in the field of regional resilience, contributing to the UNIC Thematic Line UNIC Urban Resilience and Smart Cities. This scholarship is open to both Home/EU and international students and will cover fees (EU/non-EU) and a monthly stipend for a 4-year period. The supervision team consists of Professor Justin Doran, Professor Frank Crowley, and Dr Tracy Bradfield. Once registered, the recipient is expected to actively contribute to the progression of the project and their professional development by engaging in scholarly activities, including conference presentations and submissions to high-impact peer-reviewed journals. The recipient will be expected to satisfactorily complete their annual progress reviews and the required credits of coursework and training in line with UCC GSC policy.
