About this opportunity
The CWB Welding Foundation Graduate Scholarship for Women provides annual funding valued at $15,000 to a woman-identifying graduate student registered full-time in the Master's or Doctoral program in the Department of Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering at the University of Waterloo. Preference is given to doctoral candidates. This scholarship is made possible by a donation from the CWB Welding Foundation and aims to support women in a field where they are underrepresented.
Selection is based on academic excellence, with recipients required to have a minimum cumulative average of 80% or equivalent over the last two full-time academic years. Applicants must also demonstrate interest in pursuing a career in the materials joining and allied technologies services industry. The award is in addition to any other funding offered and is normally awarded each Fall term.
Interested students must complete an application available on the Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering website and submit it by October 1st. Both Canadian/permanent residents and international students with study permits are eligible to apply. The Department of Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering selects recipients annually.
