About this opportunity
The Cyber Security Academic Startup Accelerator Programme (CyberASAP) is an 11-month programme designed to identify and support the most promising commercial opportunities in academia relating to cyber security. Phase 1 is a four-month programme split into two equal stages: an initial stage for value proposition development activities and a further stage for market validation activities. UK registered academic institutions can apply for funding to develop innovative cyber security ideas from the academic research base. The programme aims to determine the value of the idea and identify the best commercial route to progress, supported by industry experts including some from cyber security. Innovate UK, part of UK Research and Innovation, will work with the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT) to invest up to £800,000 in innovative cyber security ideas. Phase 1 participants with ideas demonstrating the most potential for commercialisation will be invited to apply for phase 2, where funding is available to develop a proof of concept for the product or service.
