D.A. Murchison Memorial Award in Music

The D.A. Murchison Memorial Award in Music is awarded to a returning student in the Music program who is in good academic standing and has displayed extraordinary volunteerism and leadership on campus and in the greater community. This award was established through the estate of Evelyn Patricia 'Patty' Matheson, who lived a long and productive life and passed away at the age of 98. Based on her belief in the value of post-secondary education, Evelyn Matheson left a substantial bequest to the University of Prince Edward Island, including funding for four scholarships. This particular award, one of four established through her estate, honours her uncle D.A. Murchison and is designed to support a student at UPEI who is enrolled in the field of Music.
