About this opportunity

The Dan and Betty Rude Scholarship supports aspiring elementary education teachers in the United States. Named after dedicated, long-time Sons of Norway members Dan and Betty Rude, who devoted their careers to elementary education and serving youth, this scholarship provides financial assistance to undergraduate students pursuing degrees in elementary education. The scholarship awards up to $3,000 annually to students who demonstrate academic potential, financial need, and alignment with the Sons of Norway Foundation's core values of building Nordic culture and heritage, committing to life-long learning and service, and fostering community. Applicants must be U.S. citizens between the ages of 17-26, have completed at least one full year of college credit, maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5, and be enrolled in an undergraduate elementary education program at a U.S. institution. No Sons of Norway membership is required to apply.
