About this opportunity
The Dan Doyle Memorial Scholarship is dedicated to the memory of Mr. Daniel Doyle who died in an automobile accident on September 21, 1982. Dan graduated from Westfield State College in the spring of 1981 and was a member of both the Cross Country and Track Teams at Westfield State, achieving Massachusetts State College All Conference Honors in the 1500m run in 1979. Dan attended Springfield Technical High School where he participated in Cross Country and Track for three years.
This scholarship is available to rising juniors or seniors at Westfield State University. Students who have attended high school in Springfield, Massachusetts are strongly encouraged to apply. All applicants must be in good academic standing and must fill out a brief questionnaire along with providing two letters of recommendation from persons (faculty, advisers, coaches, etc.) who have known them for at least two years and are not related to them.
The scholarship award amount varies and is intended to support students who demonstrate academic achievement and have connections to the Springfield area. The application requires detailed information about siblings, current financial aid, major achievements from high school to the present, and other factors relevant to the scholarship committee's decision.
