About this opportunity
The scholarship will be awarded to a West High School student athlete in memory of Darrell McDade, a former student athlete and 1986 graduate of West High School. Darrell was a teacher, coach, and mentor to many City League students. He worked in Columbus City Schools elementary and high school special needs classrooms, and coached football, baseball, and girls' basketball at West. Coach McDade supported his student athletes both on and off the field, and this scholarship is a way to continue that support in his memory. The scholarship is specifically designed for graduating seniors or graduates of West High School who have demonstrated commitment to athletics and plan to pursue higher education at any public or nonprofit college, university, or community college in the United States.
