About this opportunity
The David Cesarani, Kobler Scholarship provides a tuition fee reduction and contribution towards living costs to the value of £10,000 for MA Holocaust Studies at Royal Holloway, University of London. One scholarship is available annually for a new full-time or part-time student with Home or International fee status. The scholarship is a tuition fee reduction and contribution to living costs to the value of £10,000, with living costs contribution only applying if the tuition fee is less than £10,000.
The scholarship is named in honour of Professor David Cesarani OBE, who died in 2015. Professor Cesarani was an integral part of the Holocaust Research Institute at Royal Holloway and one of the world's foremost authorities on Jewish history and the Holocaust. The Holocaust Research Institute is housed within the Department of History and offers an active and stimulating research culture for postgraduate students.
To be eligible, applicants must have an offer to study MA Holocaust Studies and must have achieved, or be expected to achieve, at least a 2:1 Honours degree or equivalent. Applicants must submit their application through the university's applicant portal, including a scholarship statement of no longer than 500 words addressing academic achievements, reasons for choosing the degree, and how the MA will be used in future research and career paths. A written academic reference letter of up to 200 words from an academic who has previously supported, taught or worked with the applicant is also required.
The scholarship cannot be held alongside any other Royal Holloway tuition fee scholarship or discount, including the Royal Holloway and University of London Alumni discounts. If an applicant is eligible for multiple scholarships, they will be awarded the one with the highest value.
