About this opportunity
This award was established by alumnus of Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington David Day and supports postgraduate students in the pursuit of active research that benefits conservation biology and/or understanding of ecology and biodiversity. The purpose of the award is to support a postgraduate Masters or PhD student with their associated research costs. Students must be currently enrolled full-time or part-time, in a Masters or PhD programme, where their study is based on conservation biology and/or understanding of ecology and biodiversity. Recipients will be selected based on the merit of their application and research project, with applicants' research projects focusing on complementary fields of study. The recipient will be required to write a letter of thanks to the donor, act as an Ambassador for the Centre for Biodiversity and Restoration Ecology, and provide a written report after the year following their award.

A shortlist of potential recipients will be decided by Directors of the Centre for Biodiversity and Restoration and Ecology. The final recipient will then be chosen from this shortlist by the donor.
