About This Opportunity

The David Harold Tribe Postgraduate Research Fellowship is a postgraduate research scholarship valued at $15,000 AUD that supports students undertaking research in symphony, sculpture, poetry, fiction, or philosophy. Funded by a donation made in 2016 by David Harold Tribe, this fellowship is available to master's by research or PhD students enrolled at the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences or Sydney Conservatorium of Music at the University of Sydney. Recipients must have passed their first year progression assessment. Preference is given to applicants who experience financial disadvantage or hardship due to factors such as identifying as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander, low socio-economic status, carer responsibilities, long-term medical conditions or disabilities, sole-parent responsibilities, regional or remote disadvantage, or refugee status. The fellowship is awarded on the basis of academic merit, area of study and/or research proposal, a personal statement demonstrating commitment to the field and financial circumstances if relevant, and a copy of the annual progress evaluation meeting report. The fellowship value is paid as a one-off payment upon receipt of the Fellowship Acceptance Form and cannot be deferred without prior approval or transferred to another area of research.
