David J. Hagen Memorial Bursary

The David J. Hagen Memorial Bursary honors David J. Hagen, a commissioned Alberta Land Surveyor who believed strongly that land surveying is an essential part of Alberta's history and future success. He was also a strong believer in the education received by graduates of the Geomatics Engineering Technology program at NAIT and cherished the time he spent mentoring graduates, helping them to become esteemed members of the industry. His wife, Karima Afchar, and Hagen Surveys, the company he presided over for almost 25 years, established this award to honor David and his accomplishments. The bursary is available to students enrolled in the Surveying & Geospatial Engineering Technology Program at NAIT. It is awarded on the basis of demonstrated financial need and satisfactory academic achievement. Students must complete the application to be considered for this award.
