David Paul Hughes, MD Memorial Scholarship

The David Paul Hughes, MD Memorial Scholarship was established by the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences in 2025. This scholarship supports medical students with preference given to those raised in one of the eight counties of Western New York (Allegany, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie, Genesee, Niagara, Orleans, and Wyoming). Recipients should demonstrate a commitment to practicing medicine in Western New York, particularly in emergency medicine, and show passion for public health and expanding access to quality healthcare. The scholarship aims to support future physicians who will serve the Western New York community, addressing healthcare access needs in the region.
