David Paul Hughes, MD Memorial Scholarship

The David Paul Hughes, MD Memorial Scholarship was established by the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences in 2025. This scholarship supports medical students with preference given to students raised in one of the eight counties of Western New York (Allegany, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie, Genesee, Niagara, Orleans, and Wyoming), who are committed to practicing medicine in Western New York, specifically emergency medicine, and are passionate about public health and expanding access to quality healthcare. The scholarship is designed to support future physicians who will serve the Western New York community and address healthcare access challenges in the region.
