About this opportunity
The David Phillips Memorial Scholarship provides financial assistance to students from refugee, migrant or disadvantaged backgrounds to acquire English language skills at RMIT University. This scholarship was established by Lisa Phillips and Fiona Phillips to honour the work of their brother, David Phillips, who taught English at RMIT Training for more than 25 years and was passionate about the life-changing value of English language acquisition. The scholarship is intended to support students who have been born overseas, recently migrated to Australia, and are from non-English speaking backgrounds. Recipients must be enrolled full-time in RMIT English Worldwide's ELICOS Academic English Program and be able to demonstrate circumstances which impact their ability to study, such as financial hardship, living with a disability or long-term medical condition, or experiencing personal, family, or social difficulties.
