David Thompson Health Region Medical Staff Organization Academic Award

The David Thompson Health Region Medical Staff Organization Academic Award is an academic achievement award offered to full-time 2nd year Red Deer Polytechnic students who attended the Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences program in the most recent academic year. Recipients must be continuing full-time studies in the subsequent year of the program in the upcoming academic year. Preference is given to students pursuing a career in medicine. This award is established in memory of Dr. Richard Merrian, who served as a Radiologist in Red Deer from 1960-1969. The award recognizes academic excellence and supports students on their path toward careers in the medical field.
