About this opportunity
This award has been established in memory of David Zaharchuk, a doctoral student in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Waterloo. At the request of David's family, the University created this bursary to honour his memory and support graduate students facing financial hardship.
Full-time graduate students registered in any discipline at the University of Waterloo may apply for this financial need-based bursary. Applicants must be in good academic standing and demonstrate proven financial need through the application process. The award is adjudicated annually in the Fall term.
To be eligible, students must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents who have resided in Ontario for at least 12 months prior to beginning their post-secondary education. Applicants are required to apply to OSAP for the term in which the award is due and demonstrate that their current term expenses exceed their current term income. The value and number of awards may vary from year to year.
