DCIRS Community Care Scholarship

The DCIRS Community Care Scholarship is offered by Federation University Australia in partnership with DCIRS, a local organization providing in-home and community support to NDIS and Aged care home care package recipients in the Buloke Shire and surrounding areas. This scholarship supports students pursuing higher education or TAFE qualifications in the Wimmera region. The scholarship aims to encourage local students to enter the community care sector, aligning with DCIRS's goals of creating local jobs and providing individualised support to community members. The scholarship provides $2,000 in financial support to two successful applicants who are commencing Certificate, Diploma, or Bachelor level programs. DCIRS was established in mid-2020 and employs locals who focus on encouraging independence, developing therapeutic relationships, and helping clients remain in their own homes.
