About This Opportunity

The Dean's Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Undergraduate Scholarship is a Faculty of Medicine and Health scholarship established in 2014 to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students commencing undergraduate studies in speech pathology or occupational therapy at the University of Sydney. This scholarship recognizes and assists Indigenous Australian students pursuing their first year of study in the Bachelor of Applied Science (Speech Pathology) or Bachelor of Applied Science (Occupational Therapy) programs within the Sydney School of Health Sciences. The scholarship is awarded based on academic merit and a personal statement demonstrating leadership experience, future career goals, and reasons for degree choice. Recipients must maintain a minimum Semester Average Mark (SAM) of 65 each semester to continue receiving the scholarship. The selection is made by the Head of School and Dean of Sydney School of Health Sciences, Faculty of Medicine and Health. This scholarship provides $6,000 in total support, paid in two equal instalments after the census date of each semester. It is tenable for one year only and is subject to the availability of funds. The scholarship aims to increase access to allied health professional education for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, supporting their academic journey and career development in speech pathology or occupational therapy.
