About this opportunity
The Deas Thomson Physical Sciences Scholarship in Geosciences Honours is an honours scholarship for students commencing study in Geosciences. Established in 2025 in memory of Edward Deas Thomson, this scholarship is awarded to the most proficient student undertaking an honours program in Physical Sciences related to Geosciences at the University of Sydney. The scholarship covers studies in non-living systems or the inorganic world, including but not limited to Geology, Geosciences, and Environmental Studies. Preference is given to students who are undertaking Honours in Geology, though in any given year if there are no eligible Geology Honours students, the scholarship will be awarded to students studying other physical sciences related to Geosciences. The scholarship is awarded based on academic merit and a personal statement demonstrating interest in the Honours area in Geosciences related to physical sciences.
