Decatur/DeKalb Retired Educator Scholarship

The Decatur/DeKalb Retired Educator Scholarship provides annual funding to Perimeter College students at Georgia State University who are pursuing a degree in education. This scholarship is designed to support returning and non-traditional students with demonstrated financial need. The award covers tuition, fees, books, and other educational expenses for qualified students who maintain strong academic performance and have connections to the Perimeter College community. Applicants must maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher and be enrolled in an education degree program. The scholarship specifically targets returning and non-traditional students who demonstrate financial need as determined by the Office of Financial Aid. Recipients are selected based on their academic achievement, educational and career goals, and support from Perimeter College faculty or staff. This scholarship requires applicants to submit a letter of recommendation from a Perimeter College staff or faculty member and an essay of at least 300 words detailing their educational and career goals. Students are automatically considered for the scholarship based on their completed General Application through the Georgia State University scholarship portal.
