Demetrians Agricultural Bursary

The Demetrians Agricultural Bursary was developed in 2020 to make use of funds that had been invested for many years following the dissolution of the Demetrians AgHort Faculty Association, an agricultural social club that was active in the former Faculty of Agricultural and Horticultural Sciences until the 1990s. This bursary supports undergraduate students in agriculture, horticulture, agribusiness, or animal science who are experiencing unexpected financial hardship. The award is designed to help New Zealand-born students, preferably in their first or second year of study, who face unforeseen personal crises that have affected their financial circumstances. The selection process considers both the severity and unexpected nature of the financial hardship, as well as the student's commitment to pursuing a career in agriculture or horticulture.
