Den kulturelle spaserstokken

Den kulturelle spaserstokken (DKSS) is a grant program that aims to contribute to a better and more comprehensive offering of arts and culture for residents aged 67 and older in Troms county, Norway. Only municipalities can apply for this funding scheme. The grant is administered by Troms fylkeskommune (Troms County Council) through the Plan and Culture Department, which manages the program and provides follow-up support to municipalities, as well as program offerings to municipalities that request it. The funding must primarily be used for professional art and culture dissemination of high quality, with priority given to innovation and development of new offerings. Activities should take place at institutions or other meeting places where elderly people gather, including both residential institutions and day centers. The program encourages collaboration between artists, arts and cultural institutions, and other local and regional cultural actors. Cultural diversity in the population should form the basis for the program offering, and Sami and Kven cultures should be maintained. The grant should not replace existing municipal grants or planned initiatives that already have secured financing.
