About this opportunity
The Departmental Bursaries - Materials is a financial support award offered by the Department of Materials at Imperial College London to prospective undergraduate students. This bursary provides a one-off payment of £1,000 to help support students enrolling in undergraduate programmes within the Department of Materials. The department welcomes applications from students of all backgrounds and particularly encourages those who demonstrate a strong interest in materials science through their personal statement or extracurricular activities, and those who show potential to contribute positively to the department's academic and social community.
The Department of Materials offers cutting-edge undergraduate programmes that blend scientific theory with practical application. Students explore topics such as nanotechnology, biomaterials, sustainability, and advanced manufacturing, preparing them for careers in research, industry, and innovation. As part of the department's commitment to supporting future materials scientists, this bursary is available exclusively to students enrolling in undergraduate courses within the Department of Materials.
There is no separate application form for this bursary. All eligible applicants will be automatically considered by the Department's Admissions Tutor during the standard admissions process. If shortlisted, applicants will be contacted in late March or early April and invited to submit additional information to support their application. Four bursaries are available for the 2026/2027 academic year.
This scholarship is not available to continuing students and is open to both home and overseas fee status students studying full time.
