Deputy John R. Kotfila, Jr. '08 Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is a family tribute to the late Deputy John R. Kotfila, Jr '08. Deputy Kotfila was on duty March 12, 2016 travelling on the Selmon Expressway in Tampa, Florida when a wrong way drunk driver was bearing down on the vehicle in front of his cruiser. He then passed the car in front of him and placed his cruiser between the two vehicles. A head on collision occurred in which he was killed. Two innocent civilian's lives were saved by his heroic actions that day. This award honors Deputy Kotfila's life and is open to all Criminal Justice majors at Westfield State University. Students are automatically considered based on their completed General Application.
