About this opportunity
The Devin Aumend Memorial Scholarship was created by Denise Aumend to honor her daughter Devin, who despite her physical disability, was always actively involved in her community through activities including 4-H, Girl Scouts, and church youth activities. Throughout her life, Devin overcame many challenges and obstacles due to her physical disability, which led her to become an independent and determined young lady. She maintained excellent grades throughout school and earned the title of Valedictorian of her Highland High School class of 2003. Devin completed both her Bachelor's Degree and Master's degree with honors.
This scholarship is awarded to graduating seniors primarily from Highland Local Schools in Sparta, Ohio, or past recipients, though other Morrow County school applicants will not be excluded if they have the right qualifications. Candidates must have a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale and must be pursuing a four-year degree full-time. U.S. citizenship is required.
The scholarship provides a minimum award of $500 to support students pursuing higher education. The application deadline is March 1, 2026, and applications are submitted through the Columbus Foundation's online portal. This scholarship honors Devin's legacy of perseverance, academic excellence, and community involvement for many years to come.
