About this opportunity
One scholarship, valued at $1,200, is awarded annually to an outstanding Indigenous student entering first-year studies at the University of Waterloo. Preference will be given to students entering a program in the Faculty of Mathematics. This fund is made possible by a donation from the Shah family in honour of Devindra Shah, spouse of retired Waterloo professor Kirtikumar Shah. The scholarship is designed to support Indigenous students pursuing undergraduate studies in mathematics-related programs, including Computer Science, Honours Mathematics, Mathematics/Business Administration, Mathematics/Chartered Professional Accountancy, and various double degree programs with Laurier. Selection is based on academic performance, the Admission Information Form (AIF), and contest results as administered through CEMC. No separate application is required as students are automatically considered upon admission.
