About this opportunity
The D.F. McKenzie Award has been funded by former friends, colleagues and students of the late Professor Emeritus Don McKenzie. The award has been established to recognise and celebrate Professor McKenzie's achievements as a scholar, teacher and New Zealander. The award is open to students currently enrolled in an MA or PhD at Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington, in disciplines with which D.F. McKenzie was closely associated: English, Film and Theatre, Media Studies, Music, Information Management, History, Art History, Māori Studies, and Anthropology. The award is made on the basis of the merits of the application, with preference given to students whose academic focus lies in one of Don McKenzie's special interest areas such as bibliography and the history of the book, libraries and librarianship, theatre history, Renaissance and 18th century drama, New Zealand Theatre, and New Zealand music. This biennial award provides financial support to graduate students pursuing research in humanities and social sciences disciplines.
