Diana and Martin Hocking Graduate Scholarship

One or more scholarships are awarded to Master's or Doctoral students with an undergraduate degree in the physical or biological sciences or engineering who are pursuing a degree in the Department of Geography in the Faculty of Social Sciences, or the School of Earth and Ocean Sciences (SEOS) in the Faculty of Science at the University of Victoria. Students must be endorsed by their academic supervisor, and those in combined or interdisciplinary programs with one of the above departments may be considered. Preference is given to students whose research has potential application in Africa or South Asia, students who have demonstrated commitment to ongoing voluntary service in the community, and all other criteria being equal, preference is given to applicants in Geography. Approval of recipients is made by the Graduate Awards Committee upon recommendations from the Department of Geography and/or the School of Earth and Ocean Sciences.
