About this opportunity
The Diane & Erik Andersen Freshwater Scholarship provides financial support to undergraduate students majoring in freshwater sciences who maintain good academic standing. Preference is given to students with junior or senior standing. This scholarship supports students passionate about water sciences and environmental studies.
Students are automatically considered for this scholarship if they have completed and maintain an up-to-date Panther Scholarship Portal General Application and Awards Application. The scholarship selection process typically occurs between February and April each spring, with awards applying to the following academic year. Students graduating in the same spring or summer are not eligible, as the scholarship funds are designated for the upcoming fall semester and subsequent academic year.
Applicants are required to respond to supplemental questions explaining their passion for water, environment, or atmospheric science, and how the scholarship will help them pursue their goals. They must also list any relevant activities focused on water, environmental, or atmospheric science. The scholarship is administered through the UW-Milwaukee Foundation in partnership with the School of Freshwater Sciences.
