About this opportunity
This award recognizes excellence in Companion Animal Wellness at the Atlantic Veterinary College. Awarded to an Atlantic Canadian graduating student in Veterinary Medicine who demonstrates enthusiasm and achievement in Companion Animal Wellness, specifically integrative and preventative health care. The award was established through fund raising events sponsored by Richard and Donna Hassard, who also made substantial gifts to this fund. The award was created in recognition of Companion Animal Wellness and was named initially after the Hassard's dog Digby, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. In 2019, Richard and Donna requested that the award be renamed in memory of both Digby and another of their beloved Cavalier King Spaniels, Tully. This award supports students who show exceptional commitment to preventative and integrative approaches in companion animal care during their veterinary education.
