About this opportunity

The Distinguished Young Women Scholarship at Mississippi State University is awarded to winners at the local or state level of the Mississippi Distinguished Young Women Program. The scholarship offers two tiers of support: local winners receive a $1,000 one-year award disbursed equally over two semesters during their first year at MSU, while the overall state winner receives full tuition coverage for up to four years (8 semesters). To maintain the scholarship, recipients must maintain a minimum overall college GPA of 3.0 and continuous full-time enrollment of at least 12 credit hours per semester. The scholarship is available to entering freshmen with a minimum 9th-11th grade GPA of 3.0 or higher who are Mississippi residents. Applicants must submit both the General Scholarship Application and the Distinguished Young Women's Scholarship Application through the scholarship portal, including verification from the local chairperson of their county's Mississippi Distinguished Young Women program. The priority deadline for application is December 1, 2025.
