About this opportunity
The Diversity in Computing Bursary is designed to inspire more young women to pursue a career in computer science and IT. The University of Buckingham's School of Computing offers a £2,000 scholarship or bursary to female undergraduate Computing students. The program addresses the gender gap in computing education, as fewer than 20% of women who attend university choose to study Mathematical and Computing Sciences subjects. This funding opportunity is made possible through the generosity of alumnus Mr. Weiyou Cui, whose donation specifically supports female students studying Computing at The University of Buckingham. The School of Computing has been recognized for creating exceptional opportunities to advance women in STEM and has received awards for 'Advancing Women in STEM'. The bursary is available for multiple undergraduate computing degree programs, including Computing BSc, Computing with specializations in Artificial Intelligence and Robotics, Cyber Security, Business Management with Applied Computing, and Computing with integrated Foundation. Programs are available in both two-year and three-year formats, with start dates in January and September.
