About this opportunity
The Diversity in School Nursing Scholarship provides financial support for registered nurses employed in schools from historically underrepresented racial/ethnic backgrounds to pursue advanced education in health-related sciences. The scholarship originated as the Donna Mazyck Award in 2023, funded by a gift from the NASN board of directors and officers. The annual scholarship provides up to $2,500 based on available endowment funds, along with complimentary registration to the NASN annual conference during the year the scholarship is awarded. Recipients must demonstrate how their students and school system will benefit from the scholarship through a written essay. The program specifically supports diversity in the school nursing profession by assisting nurses who identify as Black or African American, Hispanic or Latino, American Indian or Alaska Native, Native Hawaiian, or other Pacific Islander.
