About this opportunity

The DNP Foundation for Cultural Promotion provides grants to support research related to graphic design and graphic arts from diverse disciplines, regardless of humanities or science, to contribute to developing graphic design and graphic art culture in Japan and worldwide. The grant program supports two categories of research: Category A focuses on research on graphic design or graphic art in general, including various academic fields such as art history, design history, typography, printing, printmaking, photography, aesthetics, art theory, and related disciplines. Category B focuses on research on graphic culture-related archives, including the creation of archives, study and analysis of historical materials in existing archives, and basic research on archives themselves. The grant is designed to support researchers at various career stages, from full-time researchers at universities and museums to part-time researchers, postgraduate students, and individual researchers with appropriate recommendations.
