About This Opportunity
The Dobbie Scholarship was established by a generous donation from William Dobbie 1981, in order to support students who are studying in the Gateway Programme at the University of St Andrews. The scholarship forms part of the Wardlaw Scholarship scheme, established in 2004 to provide financial assistance to academically gifted students who would otherwise struggle with the cost of studying at the University. The scholarship provides £4,400 per year paid as maintenance but can be used towards University accommodation fees. Maintenance is paid in ten monthly instalments directly to the student's bank account from September to May, with a double payment in February. This award is paid annually for the duration of the student's undergraduate programme. Selection is based on financial need and donor-specific criteria, and applicants must be on a Gateway programme.
