About this opportunity
The Chiang Ching-kuo Foundation offers Doctoral Fellowships to support doctoral candidates who are non-ROC citizens enrolled in accredited universities in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Central America, or South America. This fellowship provides financial support for writing dissertations in the field of Chinese Studies in the humanities and social sciences. Applicants must have completed all other requirements for their Ph.D. degree and must be in the last year of their doctoral program. The maximum award amount is US$25,000 for a period extending to one year. Successful candidates are expected to complete their dissertations by the end of the grant period, and funding is provided in two installments in July and January. Applications are evaluated based on the significance of the contribution to Chinese Studies research, the quality and originality of the applicant's work, the methodology of the proposed project, and the likelihood of successful completion during the grant period. Applicants should not be employed full-time or receiving grants from other sources during the grant period.
