Doctoral Programmes in Germany

This scholarship programme offers the opportunity to complete a doctoral degree in Germany at a state or state-recognised institution of higher education or a non-university research institute. The scholarships are funded by the German Federal Foreign Office and administered by DAAD. The programme provides funding for doctoral projects conducted either as an individual project supervised by a university teacher (doctoral supervisor) or through participation in a structured doctoral study programme. Research phases outside Germany can also be funded if critical for successful completion of the doctoral degree, provided they constitute no more than one quarter of the anticipated total funding period. The scholarship provides monthly payments, insurance coverage, travel allowances, and research funding to support doctoral candidates throughout their research stay in Germany.
