About This Opportunity

The Doctoral Scholarship Programme from Culham St Gabriel's offers teachers and professionals working in Religious Education, Religion Values and Ethics, or Religious and Moral Education (RE/RVE/RME) an opportunity to undertake doctoral studies at reduced cost. The scholarship provides up to £2,000 per year for up to five years part-time (or equivalent over three years full-time) doctoral study, with a maximum total of £10,000. Recipients become members of the Culham St Gabriel's Doctoral Scholarship virtual community of practice, which meets regularly to discuss research and disseminate findings. The programme is designed for UK residents working in the field of RE/RVE/RME who intend their doctoral studies to directly lead to development, innovation, and improvement in religion and worldviews education in their school, workplace, local area, or nationally. The scholarship is particularly interested in supporting research focusing on special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), artificial intelligence applications in RE, supporting teachers with other specialisms, and supporting under-represented groups particularly from UK Minority Ethnic or Global Majority Heritage backgrounds.
