Don and Pam Sundheim Study Abroad Scholarship

The Don and Pam Sundheim Study Abroad Scholarship supports students majoring in World Languages and Culture at Eastern Illinois University who wish to study abroad in their target language. The scholarship is available to junior and senior students with a major in French, German, or Spanish, with preference given to teacher certification candidates and those demonstrating financial need. Recipients must have at least a 3.0 GPA overall and in their language major, have completed at least one upper-division course in the target language with a C or better, and must be U.S. citizens enrolled full-time at EIU. Past recipients are not eligible to reapply, and candidates generally should not have already earned 12 or more semester hours in their target language via study abroad. The scholarship aims to provide financial support for study abroad experiences that enhance language proficiency and cultural understanding for students pursuing careers in world languages and education.
