Don Horwood Golden Bears Basketball Award

The Don Horwood Golden Bears Basketball Award is awarded to Golden Bears basketball athlete(s) with satisfactory academic standing entering any year of an undergraduate or graduate degree at the University of Alberta. The award is provided through endowed funds by friends of Don Horwood, established in his honour. Selection is based on multiple criteria including the level of excellence shown in the sport of basketball, the potential demonstrated to develop as a significant contributor to the Golden Bears basketball program, contributions made to the basketball team both on and off the court, and academic standing. This scholarship recognizes student-athletes who exemplify athletic excellence and leadership within the Golden Bears basketball program.
