About this opportunity
Established in 1994 by Ina Lawrence, the Don Lawrence Memorial Award is available to graduating Wildlife and Fisheries Conservation students from Lakeland College's Vermilion campus who are continuing their studies in the following year to pursue a career goal in the Wildlife and Fisheries Conservation area. The award is specifically designed for students who plan to work either as a wildlife officer or as a wildlife biologist. The successful candidate must be graduating from the Wildlife and Fisheries Conservation Program at Lakeland College and continuing studies in the Conservation Enforcement Program at Lethbridge Community College, or the University of Alberta in the Conservation Biology major of the ENCS program. The award recognizes students who display academic achievement, show genuine interest in the field of wildlife management and conservation, and demonstrate good character and leadership with the potential to make substantial contributions to the profession. Preference is given to Alberta residents.
