Donald and Esther Reed Family Scholarship

The Donald and Esther Reed Family Scholarship was created in the name of Muriel Reed-Faulkner, who was born on February 2, 1939 in Champaign County, Ohio. She was a daughter of Donald and Esther (Rose) Reed and a 1957 graduate of Urbana High School. She also graduated from Capital University with a major in piano and oboe. Muriel was a first-grade teacher who began her teaching career at East Elementary in Urbana, Ohio, retiring from Upper Arlington Schools in Upper Arlington, Ohio. This scholarship supports graduating high school seniors from Urbana High School in Urbana, Ohio who plan to pursue higher education in the fields of fine arts or education. The scholarship honors Muriel Reed-Faulkner's legacy as an educator and musician by supporting students who wish to follow similar paths in teaching or the arts. Candidates must plan to enroll full-time in an accredited institution of higher education in the United States. The minimum award amount is $500, and the specific deadline is determined by Urbana High School.
