About This Opportunity

The Donald G. MacCormac Business Administration Co-op Education Award is granted to a Business Administration student who has already completed one or more work terms in the Co-operative Education Program and intends to return to the UPEI Business Administration Program in the next academic year. The successful recipient will have demonstrated commitment to the program and excellence in the areas of work, academia and community service. In the result of two equally qualifying candidates, the award will be granted to the student in greatest financial need. This award was established by Don MacCormac, who founded the Business Administration Co-operative Education Program at UPEI in 1996, the first co-op program at the university. Don was an Assistant Professor of Business Administration at UPEI who began his academic career as a Sessional Lecturer in 1972 and became a full-time educator in 1993. He served as Program Director until 2006 and was also the Coordinator of the Public Administration Program at UPEI for many years. Don established and coordinated the Certificate Program in Human Resources Management, jointly delivered by UPEI and Holland College. He coached teams of UPEI students in national competitions in Human Resources Management, with UPEI teams winning two 1st place awards as well as a 2nd and 5th place finish.
