About this opportunity
The Donald Hildebrandt Memorial Scholarship honors Donald Hildebrandt, a 1976 graduate of NAIT's Forest and Resource Management program who worked as a Fisheries Technician/Biologist for Fish and Wildlife in Edson for 36 years. Known for his wonderful sense of humor and dedication to his work, Don returned to NAIT to engage students in fisheries field work and share his expertise in fish aging techniques. He was an inspiration to NAIT biology students beginning careers in wildlife and fisheries, encouraging them through his contagious humor and enthusiasm. Don passed away suddenly on March 28, 2015 at the age of 59 years.
This scholarship is available to second year students of the Biological Sciences Technology – Conservation Biology program at NAIT. It is awarded on the basis of academic achievement in the first year of the program and demonstrated enthusiasm and leadership in fish habitat restoration initiatives. Students are automatically considered for this award and no application is required.
