About This Opportunity

The Dorothy Cage Memorial Scholarship honors Dorothy Cage's legacy of supporting underserved and economically challenged youth in the Columbus community. Dorothy and her family awarded hundreds of scholarships and invested in laptops, books, and school-related expenses for youth in need. She had a gift for revealing to young people their own potential, instilling pride and self-confidence, and inspiring students to achieve greatness. This scholarship provides financial assistance to students from the greater Columbus community who have demonstrated academic achievement with a minimum 2.5 GPA and have completed at least one college term. The scholarship supports students enrolled full-time at accredited public or nonprofit colleges and universities in the United States. Preference may be given to past recipients of the Greater Columbus Community Helping Hands laptop award or scholarship. The scholarship fund continues Dorothy Cage's commitment to ensuring that economically challenged youth have the tools they need to succeed in life. By demonstrating genuine care and affection for students, this program carries forward Dorothy's vision of helping young people achieve greatness. Her legacy will be seen in the successful lives of the students for whom she committed her time, resources, and love.
