About this opportunity
The Dorothy M. Hart Memorial Scholarship supports full-time undergraduate students majoring in Physical Education at Eastern Illinois University. This scholarship is designed for sophomores, juniors, and seniors who demonstrate academic excellence with a minimum 3.0 GPA and active participation in departmental activities.
Recipients must show persistence in departmental activities such as the Physical Education Major Club, Delta Psi Kappa, or Recreational Sports in leadership capacities. The scholarship values students of good character with strong moral values who will bring credit to EIU and the Physical Education profession. Transfer students must have completed at least one semester at EIU to establish eligibility.
The award is intended to cover tuition, fees, room, and board, with the possibility of multiple recipients when funds are sufficient. Recipients can continue receiving the award for up to six semesters as long as they maintain eligibility criteria and work toward their undergraduate degree. Recipients should not be receiving other significant aid such as Grant-In-Aid or athletic scholarships.
The scholarship is announced in the Spring and paid out in both Fall and Spring semesters. Recipients' records are evaluated each spring to confirm continued eligibility.
