Dr. Arthur I. and Dr. Helen M. Poland Scholarship

The Dr. Arthur I. and Dr. Helen M. Poland Scholarship is awarded to an undergraduate student in the College of Natural Sciences who is in good academic standing, with first preference given to a student with demonstrated financial need. Dr. Arthur Poland '64, an astrophysicist, and Dr. Helen Poland, a veterinarian, believe that their educations helped them be successful in their careers and are committed to seeing that students become better educated in the sciences. This scholarship supports undergraduate students pursuing education in natural sciences at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Students must re-apply each year to be eligible for renewability. The award amount varies by year and is determined based on available funds and the applicant pool.
