About this opportunity
The Dr Bal Krishan Scholarship was established through a substantial donation to the CSU Foundation Trust in 2008 by Dr. Bal Krishan, an ear, nose and throat surgeon who has practised in Wagga Wagga for more than four decades. As a supporter of higher education and healthcare in regional Australia, Dr. Krishan created this scholarship to support Indigenous students enrolled full-time in courses on the Wagga Wagga Campus of Charles Sturt University.
This scholarship is open exclusively to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students studying any area of study at Charles Sturt University's Wagga Wagga Campus in New South Wales. The scholarship provides financial support of approximately $2,000 per semester and is designed to assist students facing financial hardship while pursuing their education.
Eligible applicants must be enrolled full-time and demonstrate financial need through a Centrelink Income Statement or by outlining their financial circumstances in the application. Continuing students are required to maintain a GPA of 4.0 or above, while commencing students must have an ATAR score of 65 or above. The scholarship reflects Dr. Krishan's commitment to supporting Indigenous students in regional Australia and helping them achieve their educational goals.
