Dr. Bill and Lill Thiel Kinesiology and Sports Studies Scholarship

The Dr. Bill and Lill Thiel Kinesiology and Sports Studies Scholarship supports full-time students majoring in Kinesiology, Sport, and Recreation at Eastern Illinois University who plan to teach physical education at the junior or senior high school level. Recipients must maintain an overall GPA of at least 3.00 and demonstrate a career commitment to secondary physical education instruction. Preference is given to disabled veterans, otherwise to the best qualified Kinesiology, Sports, and Recreation student as determined by the selection committee. Financial need is not a consideration for this award. The scholarship is announced in the Spring Semester and paid in the Fall Semester. Recipients may be eligible to reapply for the award in subsequent years provided they continue to meet the stated criteria. The application requires submission of a resume and essay demonstrating the applicant's career plans and qualifications.
